A visually impaired therapist at Tam Dac giving a recovery massage after sport

Your body improves during recovery, not during effort

Anyone who plays sport regularly understands one thing: the workout is only the part you see — the body actually gets stronger in the rest between sessions. Yet that rest is often neglected — run, then go straight home; finish a badminton match, then go straight to eat — leaving the muscles to fend for themselves with whatever tightness remains. A recovery session placed at the right point in your week helps you keep a steady form, instead of needing a long break every few weeks because of one ache that won't go away.

Just tell us what you played and which area feels tightest — the session will focus most of its time there before moving lightly over the rest. Pressure is checked constantly, enough for the muscle to release, never to the point of soreness.

What you may be feeling

Does this sound like you

  • After running, your calves and hamstrings feel tight, and the next run feels noticeably harder?
  • After badminton, tennis or pickleball, your shoulder and elbow stay sore for days?
  • After football or basketball, your thighs and calves feel stiff, needing the handrail on the stairs?
  • You train regularly at the gym, but your range of motion keeps narrowing and warming up takes longer each time?
  • You can only play for a few weeks before needing a long break because of one persistent ache?
What you receive

When recovery gets as much care as training does

What should feel easier
  • Less lingering muscle soreness two or three days after an intense session.
  • Less of that locked feeling in the shoulder or hip joint that keeps your movement from opening up fully.
  • Less tightness in the hamstrings, calves and soles after long distances.
  • Fewer weekend games postponed just because your muscles haven't recovered in time.
What the session includes
  • You choose the area to focus on based on your sport — legs for runners, shoulders and arms for racket sports.
  • Thai herbal balm for a deep warming feel, with the option to add hot stone or cupping.
  • The therapist reads how your muscle responds by touch, telling apart real tightness from ordinary fatigue.
  • Groups of sporting friends can be seated in a private twin room, no need to wait for each other's turn.
  • A traditional Thai option is available if you prefer joint stretching over oil-based pressure work.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How soon after exercise should I get a massage?

We recommend waiting 4–6 hours, or until the next day. Deep work while the muscle is still hot tends to feel worse, not better.

Does massage cause muscle loss or reduce training results?

No. Massage works on the muscle and circulation to help it relax; it doesn't shrink muscle or reduce strength in any way.

Is the strongest pressure always the best?

Not necessarily. Just enough pressure for the muscle to release is enough; too much leaves you sore for days and can ruin your next session.

Can I get a massage on the same day I train?

Yes, choose a light or foot session. A deeper session is better placed on a rest day between two training sessions.

Should I get a massage before a competition?

Come at least two days ahead and choose a light package. A deep session too close to competition day may leave your legs feeling a little unsteady on day one.

What if I currently have a swollen or painful injury?

We don't work on an acute injury. Please see a doctor first and let the therapist know so that area can be avoided entirely.
